The ecological technology island is 6.5 kilometers away from the center of Nanjing. It is only a bridge away from the new central business center. Therefore, the construction of this ecological island provides a good communication bridge for Nanjing’s economic and sustainable development.









The eight peaks on the roof also symbolize the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum near the site. Each peak is hollow in volume and has a round hole at the top to better introduce natural light into the large flat floor and play the spatial function of a light well. The architects named it “Light Cannon” and further enhanced this element in the design of the office R&D building. The “Light Cannon” are scattered among the eight pentagonal office R&D buildings, with expansive interior courtyards, highlighting the unique style of the project’s architecture.

A Special Design Strategy Creates An Oasis Space






The office R&D building also has many exclusive design strategies. The architects raised the first and second floors appropriately to promote the natural ventilation of the interior space. The Pentagon-shaped floor used in the office R&D building optimizes the rental space and maximizes the penetration of natural light.









Roof gardens and steps in the showroom and office R&D building reduce water loss while providing a place to rest for local wildlife. These oasis spaces also provide “escape space” for citizens and tourists, allowing them to enjoy the full view of downtown Nanjing.









The collection and reuse of water resources reduces the daily water use required for irrigation by nearly 50% compared to traditional technologies. The native vegetation covering more than 30% of the ground floor not only reduces the loss of water resources, but also provides a comfortable leisure space for citizens, tourists and office workers.

Material Utilization Reduces Energy Load






The project focuses on the architectural practice of sustainable design in China. To better address China’s current carbon emissions issues, the project focuses on the preservation and reuse of natural materials, the implementation of water recycling and filtration technologies, and the full utilization of natural sunlight.









The custom vertical louvers used on the building’s façade achieve the design goals of efficient shading, wide views, and ease of cleaning and maintenance. The practice of each strategy is to minimize the loss of additional heat to minimize the energy load of each office building.









The project focuses on the creation of human-scale spaces to better attract citizens and tourists. Based on high-tech innovation, it tries to provide a new ecological resort for citizens and tourists. The project contains a cultural venue, public promenade, and office building space for the incubation of technology and environmental companies.
